Just very recently Cathay Pacific announced that they would begin service to a new destination (either Seattle, Miami, Newark, or Boston).
The new destination is Newark and reservations for the new route has already opened! They are serving this with a 3 cabin Economy/Premium Economy/Business (no first class) configuration with the following schedule (as seen from airlineroute):
CX890 HKG1700 – 2100EWR
CX899 EWR0150 – 0540+1HKG
The first flight starts March 2 with a 77W.
This route should also be bookable with miles, and award availability is already showing up as bookable, with great space available (7+ business class seats for the few dates I’ve looked at!)

Remember you need the following miles to book this route one-way (economy/business):
30,000/50,000 Alaska Miles
35,000/55,000 AAdvantage (to Asia 2 with free one-way)
35,000/70,000 BA Avios (+ fuel surcharges = worst value)
As far as I know the business class should be the reverse herringbone product which should be quite nice.

Is it still 30k miles if I fly from other NA airport like CLt to ewr on aa and from ewr to Hong Kong on Cathay pacific? Thanks
You’ll need to get to EWR using AS which is pretty unlikely…. you cannot use AA to positioning to EWR with alaska miles.
