Black Friday Deal – Bose QC 20 Headphones for $184USD!

Bose Headphones are one of my must-have travel accessories, especially during a long flight. There are four models worth considering:

The QC20 and QC30 are earbud type models, while the QC25 and 35 are over-ear. The QC30 and 35 also connect wirelessly via bluetooth.

Until November 29th, you can buy a pair of Bose QC20 Headphones for only $249 CAD (184 USD). Ironically, it’s even cheaper than the price in the US, which is $199 USD. When these headphones first came out, they retailed at $299 USD, so that’s a discount of over 30%. Bose never discounts new models, and rarely discounts older models save for certain days like Black Friday.

To my knowledge, Amazon.ca nor Bose will ship to the US when purchasing from the Canadian site. The best way to take advantage would be to get a friend to help you or ship it to a hotel and pick it up when you’re escaping Trump vacationing here. The Bose QC20 Headphones are the earbud variety, which are much more portable. Currently, I only own a set of QC25 headphones.

Of the many headphones I’ve tried, Bose have the best combination of comfort and noise cancellation. Many people claim that it’s a mainstream brand with mediocre sound quality, although I haven’t noticed a significant difference compared to other headphones at these price points. *I’m not an audiophile, however.

One thing I will note is that Bose has phenomenal customer service. When my first set of QC25 headphones broke (they wouldn’t play any sound at all), they offered to replace them for free, even though the manufacturer’s warranty that came with the purchase had already expired. The store rep literally opened a new box on the spot and handed it to me, so it wasn’t even a refurbished pair.

It wouldn’t have mattered in the end, because I purchased the product with my American Express Platinum Card – the extended warranty protection would have covered the replacement. However, the fact that Bose went beyond what was explicitly stated was really nice, and that saved me from the hassle of opening a claim with my credit card company.

I’m very tempted to purchase a pair at this price. Will you?

  1. I own and love the QC 25 as well and cannot imagine better quality sound (lets face it – on an airplane how would you be able to detect the “quality” when the main feature is blocking the engine drone).

Perhaps if you were using the headphones in a very quiet location they would not be quite as good as some but this would probably be due to the noise cancelling circuitry giving some feedback with a small time shift.

  2. I love my QC20s and want to buy a set for my brother. Too bad they’re still 2580 HKD here in Hong Kong during this trip…
