Park Hyatt New York Review, West Side Suite

One of my favourite properties in North America is the Park Hyatt New York.

After my stay at the Hyatt Regency Jersey City, I stayed at the Park Hyatt in Manhattan over the weekend. My suite in Jersey City was spectacular, so I was coming in with fairly high expectations.

I’ve stayed once before when the property first opened. That stay wasn’t particularly exciting so I was hoping for a better experience this time.

This property is a Category 7 property, which costs 30,000 points a night. I used two free night certificates as well as points for this stay.

A guest relations manager had emailed me before my stay. Globalists are normally upgraded to a Park Studio or Junior Suite pending availability. The hotel was fairly empty that weekend (I presume), so I was further upgraded to a West Side Suite.

There was a hallway leading into the suite’s living room.

The living area was spacious, and very tastefully furnished.

The minibar is also pretty nice with a half-bottle of Krug.

Despite being on the lower half of the hotel, the Central Park views from the suite were quite nice.

The bathrooms are also very luxurious, with a soaking tub and decent views. I also loved that the property had a iPhone charger in the room.

As a Globalist Member, breakfast is complimentary, and you’re permitted to order it via room service. It was delicious!

Lastly, one of my favourite parts of the hotel is the swimming pool. It’s absolutely gorgeous.

Overall, the stay was really enjoyable, and I highly recommend this property if you’re splurging on a hotel in Manhattan.

Room rates start at $660 USD. Book your stay at the Park Hyatt New York here.

  1. Did you get a further upgrade because you emailed the manager and mentioned your blog? Or is this the standard treatment for Globalists (thought the Park Hyatt NY was not that generous)?

  2. Part of the reason you were upgraded is because, as a blogger, your prominence is high. You make Enough money from blogging that you are treated “differently”. Lucky, another blogger who makes at least $500K annually is also someone who gets differential treatment. I’m a globalist and paid a copay of $400 per night on top of my room to stay in the West Side Suite. The hotel wasn’t full. Can you explain why we were treated differently?
