PointsU Calgary In Two Weeks!

One of the best way to learn about miles and points are in person. PointsU, which will be held in Calgary this year, is the perfect place to do that. There’s just two weeks left to get tickets for the conference on November 4th. To get $20 off, use code CDNKMS. This time around, we are using an interactive format with smaller groups, which should be more conducive to discussion and brainstorming.

The agenda for the day is now available, covering everything from credit cards, to Aeroplan, to manufactured spending, and more. I’m not the biggest fan of paying for information, but attending a conference is much more than that. For beginners, you have a whole day where people talk to you about everything from A to Z. You’ll learn a lot – stuff worth hundreds if not thousands of dollars.

For more knowledgeable travellers, you’ll still learn a lot. Regardless of how much you know, there is always someone who knows more than you in a particular field. Period. I’ve learned tons of things that I would never have found out by myself, and I’m sure you will too. There’s also value in hearing personal anecdotes and the latest tips and tricks from a large group of people.

Other than that, one of the most important things when trying to maximize your travel dollar are your friends. This event is one of the ways you can grow your network – and that’s probably more important than learning how to avoid fuel surcharges on Aeroplan, or which credit cards to get. Many of the “deals” that I’ve been lucky to enjoy are thanks to my people. This includes absolutely mind blowing stuff – like being able to ticket Garuda Indonesia First Class for less than $600. And that’s just the surface.

There are many, many more interesting stories that I have to tell – you’ll have to find me though. 🙂

Use Code CDNKMS to get $20 Off your PointsU Calgary Ticket!

  1. Awesome! I’m flying YOW-YYC every week for work and won’t be there on the weekend unfortunately. Will there be any events/any speakers in town earlier in the week? I normally stay at the downtown Marriott—drinks in the lounge anyone? 🙂
