LoungeBuddy is a pretty cool app that will show you, based on your elite statuses, credit cards, and airline ticket, the lounges you’re able to access at any airport. As I mentioned in a post just a few days ago, they are currently offering $10 off your first lounge booking through the app if you use the code CANKM.
I already have access to these lounges through Priority Pass from my American Express Platinum Card, currently offering a 60,000 Membership Rewards points signup bonus (see my review here). However, as I mentioned before, purchasing lounge access may be worth it if you are not flying in business/first class and don’t find enough value from the Platinum Card to justify the annual fee.Luckily, even if you don’t have access, LoungeBuddy is giving away free lounge access in Canada, Macau, Malaysia, India, Singapore, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates to celebrate their launch of instant bookings with Plaza Premium. The airports include:
- Canada: Edmonton (YEG), Vancouver (YVR), Toronto (YYZ)
- Macau: Macau (MFM)
- Malaysia: Kota Kinabalu (BKI), Kuala Lumpur (KUL), Kuching (KCH), Langkawi (LGK), Penang (PEN), Senai (JHB)
- India: Bangalore (BLR), Delhi (DEL), Hyderabad (HYD)
- Oman: Muscat (MCT)
- Singapore: Singapore (SIN)
- United Arab Emirates: Abu Dhabi (AUH)
You’ll get free lounge access if you are one of the first 50 people to write to support@loungebuddy.com, if you’re traveling through one of the airports listed below anytime between May 15th to May 31st. You must provide them the date you plan to use the pass, airport and terminal you’re travelling through, and email on your LoungeBuddy account.
I find the domestic and international Plaza Premium Lounges at YVR stunning and superior to the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge, so it’s definitely worth checking out.
