I’ve writte about Uber in the past. This weekend Nordstorm is partnering with Uber to give the following:

*First-time Uber users can use promo code NORDSTROM for a free ride up to $20 (any amount over is the passenger’s responsibility).

*Existing Uber users can use promo code NSALE to get 10% off their fare (up to $5 off).

WHERE CAN I GO?

Riders must start their trip in an Uber service area, listed below. This offer is valid for a single one-way trip to or from a participating Nordstrom store.

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?

Use promo codes by August 4, 2013, at 11:59pm PST.

ANY OTHER RESTRICTIONS?

The offer is valid in the United States only and excludes UberTAXI. Uber service is subject to Uber’s terms and conditions in addition to the promotional restrictions listed here. Gratuity is included in the overall fare.

WHAT IF I DON’T LIVE IN A CITY THAT HAS UBER?

If you do find yourself in a city that Uber services anytime later this year, you can use the code NORDSTROM to get up to $20 off your trip if you’re a new user (use by December 31, 2013, at 11:59pm PST).

It stacks with the $10 signup bonus that you get if you signup through a refer your friend promo. Here is mine, feel free to leave your own in the comments.

There’s conflicting information whether the first ride promotion can be used without trips to Nordstrom but there’s a chance that it might be applicable to rides as well (as you can see in the screenshot).

What I really like about uber in the few times I’ve used it in NYC, Toronto, and Seattle is that it is really consistent and convenient, since you are able to see the driver and s/he can see you. Note that you do need to provide your credit card information when you signup (I trust that your information is securely held).
