There is a targeted 100% Promo for Purchased US Dividend Miles going around until November 30st. I do think that this is targeted to those who have had certain types of activity on their account, as several of the accounts which I managed for the Transfer Promo were targeted for this promo. One of my empty ones were not, however.

Remember miles are sold for $0.035 per mile plus a tax recovery charge of 7.5%, which means 100,000 miles after bonus would cost you $1881.25 USD (plus GST/HST for Canadian Residents). Is this a great deal? If you don’t have any miles and didn’t take advantage of the Share Promo back in October, then it might be if you have some immediate travel.
It’s 90,000 miles for RT J to North Asia given the severity of the UA devaluation but as soon as AA/US finish merging/not merging I’m almost 100% we will see a devaluation so I’d only advise purchasing miles if you have an immediate use for them.

Ha, fixed!
I didn’t nor did any of the 6 Canadian people who I know who transferred in the last round get this promo. So don’t know how wide spread it is.
I’m guessing it’s more to do with something like activity before the transfer promo. But I’m not sure.
