A friend a while back passed me a link to download Wingz, a car transportation app. I’m a big fan of Uber, and moderately so of Lyft, since these apps are extremely helpful when I’m travelling.
There are few major differences between Wingz and Uber/Lyft.
- Rides are to and from the airport only
I find this pretty interesting, and quite useful, especially leaving from airports such as Chicago O’Hare or Sea-Tac, where you technically can’t even pick up a uberX due do legal restrictions. It seems like Wingz has gotten a legal license to pickup passengers from the airport, which is nice.
- Rides don’t have surge pricing
As Wingz best describes it: “No B.S, you know the price when you book. Whether there is heavy traffic, a peak of demand, or an alien invasion, it will never change.” That’s much better than can be said for surge pricing with Uber and Lyft.
- Rides are pre-booked and can be booked online
I think this is quite an advantage. You likely already know when you’re going to arrive at an airport or depart from the hotel, so pre-booking could be quite useful. There’s also no worrying about availability of cars or surge pricing. Wingz does have a fairly flexible cancellation policy, allowing free cancellation up to 2 hours before your ride. That’s pretty lenient compared to some shuttles and other pre-booked car services.
The prices for Wingz are actually for the most part on par with Uber. They’re higher in some cities and lower in others. For example, an Uber from the SPG property to PDX airport is $27-35.
The Wingz price is $25.
The only limitation is the coverage that Wingz has. Right now they’re in a significant chunk of the Western US, but aren’t international (yet).
$25 in Wingz Coupon Codes
The current Wingz referral is only $10, but there are two additional stackable coupon codes that’ll get you an additional $15.
To get the full $25 in Wingz credit:
- Signup using my link or https://wingz.me/invite/242812, getting you $10 in credit.
- Add code affpuy10 for another $10 in credit
- Add code new2wingz for another $5 in credit.
You can add the additional codes if you’re redirected at wingz.me/credit. That’ll get you a total of $25 in credit, which will cover your ride or at least take a significant chunk off the price of your first ride.
I’m looking forward to trying this service out next week!

Signed up with your link any idea how long the credit lasts? does it expire or not?
I don’t think it expires. You can contact Wingz if you want to be absolutely sure.
Thanks, wish I had this last week. Taxi at 1 AM from YEG to downtown was $60.00
Oops, no Canada airports I see.
Your post above includes Houston, but their website does not have Houston airports any more. Why did it disappear?
Strange, they must have changed it between the time of my post and today.
