Marriott Rewards pretty much is the only major hotel or airline program to award points for online social media interaction. I’ve never used the previous version of their program, but today they’ve revamped the program raising the annual limit of points you can earn from 15k to 45k. The new name of this is #rewardspoints.
45,000 points a year is not a lot. But for something that doesn’t cost you anything but time, it doesn’t seem like a bad thing to participate in. Keep in mind that you can earn 75,000 Marriott (25,000 SPG) apiece with the Starwood Personal American Express and the Starwood Business American Express, as well as 50,000 Marriott with the Chase Canada Marriott Visa.

You can pick up 1,000 free Marriott points by connecting your Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram accounts, as well as following them on those platforms. Some of the permissions that are asked for can be quite invasive, which is why I plan to revoke access once the points post into my account.

That’s wonderful! Thank you for telling us such a good promotion! 1,000 Marriott points is worth at least 10 bucks!
