I recently received an email that’s promoting the use of contactless payment on your AMEX. American Express currently has four charge cards earning Membership Rewards with improved bonuses – which are all historical highs.
- American Express Business Platinum Card: Get up to 75,000 Membership Rewards Points!
- American Express Business Gold Card: Get up to 40,000 Membership Rewards Points!
- American Express Platinum Card: Get up to 60,000 Membership Reward Points!
- American Express Gold Rewards Card: Get up to 30,000 Membership Rewards Points!
AMEX $10 Statement Credit
The promotion is as follows – you’ll receive a $10 statement credit if you spend $50 or mores with contactless payment. This includes Apple Pay, Amex Pay, or tapping your card at a contactless terminal.
The promotion is targeted, so not all cards are eligible. Of the eight cards I manage, two qualified, which was nice. Obviously, my American Express Business Platinum Card which I’ve used on Apple Pay didn’t qualify.
You have to register your card and complete the qualifying purchase before April 30, 2017. Only the first 15,000 eligible cardholders are eligible, so hurry!
If you didn’t receive an email, you may still be targeted – presumably it just means you’ve opted out of promotional email communication. You can check if you are eligible at this link. Given we rarely have Amex Offers in Canada, it’s finally nice to get such a promotion.
